Call For Papers

This symposium aims to foster discussion and understanding of new research in postcolonial studies undertaken by postgraduate students at Scottish universities. We intend for the meeting to stimulate productive new networks amongst students in postcolonial studies nationwide, in order to plan similar future events that encourage interdisciplinary study within the field. We are looking for submissions from fellow postgraduate students and support contributions from as wide a scope of research areas and disciplines as possible. As the term ‘postcolonial’ itself transcends a strict definition, papers outlining problems and questions are most welcome. We encourage discussions, suggestions and criticism in an informal environment rather than formal presentations with absolute conclusions.

We therefore suggest that you prepare a short position paper that sets out your research topic in terms of

general subject
key research questions
examples of how you are dealing with research problems

Feel free to adjust the weighting of these topics, according to your interests and the stage you are at in your research.
